This Week In NFT/Crypto World - DeGods DeCline Continues
DeGods crash further with Points Parlour announcement
Since last week’s article on the DeGod’s capitulation, the collection has crashed another 48% in 7 days.
Why?
Without repeating the arguments from last week, the team also announced Points Parlour - which the market does not appear to have rated.
The Points Parlour is a game of chance/ strategy with big prizes including MacBooks and a Tesla!
Here's how it works:
1. Stake your DeGods NFT to earn Points
2. Use your Points to open Packs
3. Every Pack contains a Prize
Strategy comes in because different packs have different prize distributions and pack prices change depending on how you play.
It seems that NFT “Membership Clubs” will trend towards a system of loyalty points with accompanying rewards and prizes - but this will not necessarily make the underlying NFT price go up!
Social gaming giant Zynga enters Web3 with Sugartown
Zynga is one of the world’s biggest social game developers. It has announced it will enter the web3 space with Sugartown, a Web3 gaming platform and transmedia IP.
They believe that in the future “players will have on-chain ownership of their digital collectibles and gaming items.”
This is proof that the marriage between gaming and digital assets - with on-chain ownership - is becoming more and more obvious to everyone.
The team has also been praised for their web3 native approach by working with Spaces hosts Wale and Shiv to kick start their live community building. This native approach to capture the attention of crypto-capital always works best.
Ledger integrates Paypal
Paypal has partnered with Ledger to allow you to purchase BTC, ETH, BCH, and LTC using your PayPal balance (or an eligible bank balance or debit card).
This is pretty huge news, as it makes the process of buying crypto AND getting it into your self-custody much easier.
Sotheby’s Grails IV auction sees 6-figure Fidenza sales
Sotheby’s has continued with their Grails auctions - the latest of which saw a number of 6 figure Fidenza sales.
Here is one of the most striking, Fidenza #943, which sold for $190,000.
Sponsored Post - Lil Nouns Declines $30,000 Twitter Spaces Proposal
Lil Nouns DAO has declined the $30,000 proposal by The Lil Nouns Show team to produce another season of its Twitter Spaces.
The Lil Nouns Show was the most listened to weekly Twitter Spaces show in the Nouns ecosystem, achieving 13,100 listeners across 36 shows.
So what happened?
Whilst there was some great feedback for the team on what they have produced to date, there were some large voters against the proposal.
This is a reminder that the proposal process is not always a bed of roses, and it is important to understand the large voters and their philosophy.
As such, The Lil Nouns Show team are evaluating their options before announcing their next steps.
I know what it is like to have a proposal fail - one of my early proposals failed.
But I believe with the right intentions, quality work, and persistence, it is possible to come back stronger. And Lil Nouns DAO is still open for business.
If you are curious about contributing to a cutting-edge DAO and getting paid to bring your ideas to life:

XCOPY, Grifter - 9 ETH ($16,400)
Dmitri Cherniak, Ringers - 39 ETH ($71,800)
DeGods, Medusa - 55 ETH ($101,000)
Thought Piece - The 10 Commandments for Hosting A Twitter Spaces
I have hosted more than 60 Modern Market Twitter Spaces (akin to a modern-day radio show) on the NFT Market.
Twitter Spaces are a huge opportunity for both brands and creators to create natively digital experiences which are live.
The experience of a space can be electrifying when you have a great conversation with top guests on a trending topic.
But holding the mic, steering the conversation and managing 50, 100, or 1000+ people in a room requires a very unique skillset.
If you are interested in learning how to lead and execute a Space, here are my 10 commandments.
(I take a lot of inspiration from my 3 years as an English teacher in a secondary school in London.)
Be Routine - Consistency is Key: Establishing a regular schedule lets your audience know when to tune in. Familiarity breeds anticipation.
Be Dependable - Trust is Built Over Time: If you commit, show up. Your reliability establishes trust with your audience and positions you as a committed host.
Be Structured - A Framework Sets Expectations: Having a clear agenda or structure ensures your show flows smoothly. It also helps in guiding discussions and managing time effectively.
Be With Trusted People On Stage - Quality Over Quantity: Your co-hosts and guests represent your show. Ensure they are reliable, knowledgeable, and add value to the discussion.
Be Prepared - Professionalism Reflects in Preparedness: Research your topics. A well-informed host is more engaging and credible to the audience.
Establish Culture - Set the Tone: Every successful show has its ethos. Create a welcoming environment where participants feel respected and valued.
Listen Actively - Engagement is Two-Way: As much as your voice matters, listening to your participants fosters community and often brings in fresh perspectives.
Praise Specifically - Recognition Drives Engagement: When you appreciate someone, be specific about what you loved. It builds confidence and encourages quality participation.
Provide Heads Up - Keep Surprises To A Minimum: If you want to throw to someone on a controversial topic, give them a few minutes of advance notice so they can think about their contribution.
Watch Closely - Stay Ahead of Conflicts: Monitor the chat and participants. If someone is talking for too long, you should watch the audience to see if they are reacting (or even leaving the space) and do something about it.
In the end, hosting a Twitter Spaces show requires consistency, preparation, and genuine engagement. Uphold these commandments, and you're on your way to creating a Spaces show that resonates.
Have a great day,
