This Week In NFT/Crypto World - WorldCoin wants your iris
ChatGPT Founders to raise $100m for Worldcoin
Worldcoin - planned by OpenAI, the same team behind ChatGPT - aims to create a global digital currency which is fairly distributed to everyone in the world.
And they want to use a biometric scan of the your iris, so that it can be verified against a government-issued ID to confirm your identity!
If you want the Worldcoin, you must give up your eyes!
*secondary iris market starts to get warmed up…*
Zimbabwe has long had currency problems and suffered against the US dollar.
The central bank's latest digital currency plan was to permit small amounts of Zimbabwean dollars to be exchanged for a digital gold token.
Despite the IMF not being happy with this plan, the central bank began this digital token sale for a minimum price of $10 for individuals and $5,000 for corporations.
At the sale’s conclusion, Zimbabwe used nearly 140 kilograms of gold reserves to back the first sale of its digital money.
The central bank received 135 applications valued at 14 billion Zimbabwe dollar ($12 million) to purchase the gold-backed digital tokens.
Yuga Labs collection dumps +20% on reveal
Example HV-MTL NFT
The HV-MTL collection by Yuga Labs (the creators of Bored Apes) dumped more than 20% of its floor price when they were revealed midweek.
They have since recovered 10% to around a 1 ETH floor price.
These NFTs will have a roll to play in The Otherside game.
If you were not yet aware, Yuga Labs has basically become a fully fledged gaming company, with huge hires like Dan Alegre from Activision signalling their intent.
Chimpers Adventure 3 completes
The Chimpers 3rd snakes-and-ladders style blockchain boardgame came to its completion and the 4th game was simultaneously announced to begin in a few weeks time.
I am still yet to see a team in the NFT space who deliver with this regularity on multiple fronts.
Always proud to be working with them!
Ledger admit they can extract your private keys
The most prominent hardware wallet, Ledger, has admitted that it can “techincally” extract your private keys from your trusty hardware wallet.
Many were completely astounded by this; whilst some thought it was not such a big deal.
After reading the various opinions, I have concluded:
i) Ledger’s communication around this has left a lot to be desired, particularly because it appears that this new information directly contradicts previous information
ii) A big issue amongst some is that Ledger are closed source: meaning noone can conduct an audit to see how they are protecting the important keys
iii) It seems that at some point in time, you have to trust someone..
A good thread to says “don’t worry it’s fine”
iv) But that doesn’t mean they should have purposefully misstated the nature of their product - which begs the question - what else may they misstate in future?

Sponsored Post - Lil Nouns DAO
Do you have cool ideas but need funding?
My friends Cardno, April, Crusher and English have recently received a multi-month deal from Lil Nouns DAO worth 17 ETH ($30,000) to run a Lil Nouns centered Twitter Spaces show - if you have a cool idea like this Lil Nouns DAO could be able to fund you too.
The Lil Nouns DAO has a significant treasury for funding passionate, thoughtful and committed creators in this space who want to proliferate the Nounish message - this funding could be yours, just like it was theirs!
How does funding work?
Lil Nouns DAO releases routine bounties called “props” to which you can submit your ideas to win that funding.
What’s an even bigger deal?
Lil Nouns DAO owns almost 20 Nouns - which means we are in the perfect position to support your biggest ideas by leveraging those Nouns to sponsor your proposal and vote for you in Nouns DAO itself (TLDR: this gets you exposure to the much larger Nouns treasury).
If you are curious about contributing to a cutting-edge DAO and getting paid to bring your ideas to life:
Check out the Lil Nouns DAO website for more details or reply to this email with any questions you’d like me to answer.

Creator Corner - The tremendous rise of Jack Butcher
This is the most inspiring story I have seen this week.
If you are out there and have a dream and it feels far off - read this.
I want to leave it with you here, as written by Celia Butcher, who is co-building Visualize Value with her husband, Jack Butcher.
For context, I wrote this about Jack Butcher 3 months ago in this article:
Jack Butcher does not define himself in his Twitter bio.
My attempt to describe: an internet entrepreneur who laconically communicates business and life advice via a minimalist digital aesthetic.
He has 240k Twitter followers; and his business, Visualize Value, has 361k followers.
It is not an understatement to say that the creative output from Visualize Value is enjoyed by - and genuinely useful to - hundreds of thousands of people the world over.
Keep going; do not give up.
Have a great day,
B
