Pokemon Digital Packs Rip 10x on Courtyard
Keith Haring's 5 NFTs sell at Christie's for combined total of $1.5M
The famous artist Keith Haring's digital creations previously only viewable by floppy disc sold as NFTs at Christie's this week.
The full list of NFTs and sale prices
They sold for $277k, $353k, $353k, 353k and $252k respectively.
Haring died at 31 in 1990.
His era-defining pop art can be found in the MoMa and LACMA.
Courtyard digital pack rip for Pokemon cards quick 10x
Courtyard is playing with the boundaries of digital and physical collecting.
This week they offered $5 packs which all included 1 graded Pokemon card vaulted at Brink's.
They already sell Basketball, Baseball, Football, Hockey and Marvel cards all on chain!
This gives credence to the thesis that, eventually, all RWA’s (Real World Assets) will move on-chain to unlock global liquidity.
(The Pokcmon packs are now selling on the secondary market for $68!)
$12M NFT Acquisition proposal passes in ApeCoin DAO
In the wonderful world of DAOs there is nothing like a good fight over millions of dollars of treasury funds to see who gets to oversee the large scale buying of “culturally significant and influential” NFTs.
This week two titans went head to head with similar proposals to the ApeCoin DAO (the DAO instigated by the famous Bored Ape Yacht Club): Machi as a DeFi OG + BAYC Maxi; Yat Siu as Chairman of gaming giant, Animoca Brands.
Animoca's Proposal - Goal: Purchase various non-fungible tokens (NFTs) from culturally significant and influential collections in the web3 ecosystem.
Machi's Proposal - Goal: Create the Digital Art Movement Collection to acquire Yuga Assets (BAYC, MAYC, BAKC, and Punks and other notable NFTs for exhibition and donation to art institutions.)
The Cost? Animoca: 750k APE ($850k); Machi: 11M APE ($12.5M).
This is important because this is one of the most prominent DAOs, with two of the most prominent actors in the web3 / NFT space - and it sets some precedent for what type of spending is acceptable for DAOs of this size.
Both proposals passed - so this NFT spending spree can start soon!
Optimism airdrops $27M of $OP: $570M still held back for future airdrops
This week Optimism, a prominent L2 of Ethereum, airdropped 19.4M OP tokens ($27M) to its holders who participated in DAO governance.
There is still 570M $OP allocated for future airdrops ($787M!)
It pays to stay active (by making transactions, providing liquidity, participating in DAO governance) on L2s!
Citi Group integrates tokenized deposits & smart contracts into global network
The bank with more than $2T assets recognised the institutional need for ‘always-on’ + programmable financial services.
Money is going on-chain.

Thought Piece - From 12 Subscribers to 184 Million: Mr Beast In Numbers
Beginning with a modest 12 subscribers on his channel at 12 years old, Mr Beast has now amassed a jaw-dropping 184 million subscribers as he approaches his 26th birthday.
The level of obsession and dedication to make it at this level is clear.
When I was 12 I basically decided I’d either become a YouTuber or die trying. There really wasn’t a reality in my head where I didn’t make it, just the time was the issue. I’d still be making videos at 70 years old even if no one watched them. (Luckily it didn’t get to that point lol) I’m grateful I found what I loved at a young age
I have been struck by how many people are always trying to find the next “hack” for how to game the algorithm or accelerate their own growth.
Whilst there are undoubtedly tactics creators can employ to further themselves, I believe the simplest is most true: optimise for producing better work.
The more you produce quality content, the more your audience will increase.
Over a long enough time, I believe this plays out.
Have a great day,
