GM - this is the BCheque Papers, edition #48.
I write about NFTs/crypto, and trying to make it independently in web3.
Newsflash: your boy has some sponsors now!
When I started I didn’t know this would happen; I just wrote to understand everything I was learning.
But as I continued this has become my most enjoyable part of the week: writing for all of you. Without you I couldn’t have had a chance to make this a legitimate business - so thank you to each and every one of you.
I want you to know I have thought a hell of a lot about who I can work with as sponsors. My overarching principle is that I want you to win WITH me.
I hope that comes across. Also, please reply with what excites you, or who you want free stuff from lol. I can always try!
On to this week’s segments:
This Week In Crypto - Sam arrested and denied bail
This Week In NFT World - Donald Trump enters NFTs
Sponsored Post - Meraki: Curated Generative Art Platform on Polygon
Creator Corner - Can AI Replace Human Talent?
Meme of the week - “Select all squares with man going to prison.”
For sponsorship enquires, please DM me on Twitter.
Have a great day,
B
This Week In Crypto
SBF arrested and denied bail - SBF is finally in a Bahamian jail for his troubles at FTX. He has been charged by all of the acronyms: CFTC (Commodity Futures Trading Commission), SDNY (Southern District of New York), and the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) on a truckload of charges. The charges stretch into the 2nd tweet of this thread lol
This was the best quality image on the internet of him coming out of court.
And this was the best image of him trying to tell you a while back that he was stealing all your funds.
Senators propose Digital Asset bill to end crypto privacy - The Digital Asset Anti-Money Laundering Act aims to bring know-your-customer (KYC) rules to crypto participants such as wallet providers. This would end privacy in crypto.
People in crypto are obsessed with having the “freedom to transact.”
And people not in crypto are obsessed with preventing crime.
In the end you have to decide: is the potential of crime worse than the potential of government crackdown?
A balance is required: broadly, I am on the side of 6529. I don’t think a majority of people are criminals. I do think the majority of governments will veer towards tyranny if given the power and technology to do so.
In honour of this principle, here is an NFT I had the freedom to sell for $600 and now is worth about $20,000. Thank God for the freedom to transact!
2. This Week In NFT World
Donald Trump enters NFTs - Just watch the video lol. He actually understands the value proposition pretty well, but could maybe sell it better: “Each card comes with the chance to win amazing prizes like dinner with me - I don’t know if that’s an amazing prize but it’s what we have.”
Rektguy buyback plan announced - Founders of rektguy, OSF and Mando, will be using 20% of certain profits to buyback rektguys to curate a rektguy vault. They have so far acquired 149 rektguys. This after OSF promised his community he would get a tattoo if the collection reached a 1ETH floor - which it did - and he was true to his word.
It’s become clear if you are not getting a tatt you do NOT care about your community.
Sartoshi return and mintpass confirmed - On January 1 2023, Sartoshi will return as @sartoshi_rip.
Sartoshi was an NFT collector and meme artist who made loads of cash from some NFT drops then deleted his account and disappeared lol. He made art like this which genuinely delighted everyone on CryptoTwitter.
If you thought you needed to draw to sell art in web3, now you know!
You do need a sense of humour though.
XCOPY to drop Meme Card #47 on Friday in 6529’s collection, The Memes - The Memes SZN1 will finish this Friday 16 December with its 47th and final card: a card produced by XCOPY. (If you don’t know, XCOPY is the grail NFT artist.)
Join the battle for the card!
Sponsored Post - Meraki

Creator Corner - Can AI Replace Human Talent?
Sovereignty for an individual trying to make it in web3 is hard because of the plethora of places you feel you need to be active all of the time.
Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok. Does it ever end? I think it is so difficult for it to end, mentally, because ultimately you could always do more in theory.
Most people try to deal with this by specialising on just one or two platforms first (not bad); by doing a little bit across a lot platforms (worse); going super hard for a bit and then collapsing for a mental health break (worst).
This week I experimented with how I could use AI to help me across various roles/tasks.
Here are three examples - some normal, and some ridiculous - of how AI could help me in the next few days.
a) LinkedIn Posts
I hate LinkedIn. I never use it and never added anyone on it so it feels like starting from the beginning. Nevertheless, I need to start posting there.
So ChatGPT, convert last week’s creator corner post into a professional post for LinkedIn.
So that didn’t work, so I copied and pasted the text.
Reasonable summary, but I realised I don’t need a summary. I need a more tailored post for LinkedIn, so that’s what I asked for: inspiring and professional.
There we go. I will post that next week and report the findings - done!
b) Tweets
I’ve noticed that tweets about imposter’s syndrome do well on Twitter because, I guess, a lot of people struggle with it.
So, let’s get some inspiration for more of those.
These are a bit cheesy, but I will incorporate some next week - though I will mostly likely amend some to keep my voice and personality.
c) Rap for Twitter Spaces
Since we’ve been going down the instrumental route on Twitter spaces this week, wondered what it might be like to prepare a few bars to spit about…inflation lol.
Let’s see…
I’m not entirely certain this fits the beat perfectly - but maybe I can make it work lol. Now have to see if we run with it!
Conclusion: As it stands, AI is great for a 1st draft of almost anything.
It appears to excel with more corporate language at the moment and misses some personality (hardly unsurprising).
Nevertheless, this is a great foundation on top of which you can build content to help you scale your operations.
Let me know how you are thinking of using AI!
Meme of the Week
