As I write this approaching Friday midnight after NFT London, I reflect on the inspiring conversations of the last few days.
Sometimes I read criticisms of conference events - they aren’t perfect by any means - but I can’t help but think they are what you make of them.
We are so early in a nascent space - get out there with good intentions and get after what you desire (with no ill will against others who are trying the same.)
That’s how I see it.
Have a great day,

Thought of the Week
Meme of the Week
1. This Week in NFT World
Instagram integrates NFTS - Instagram will allow users to create and sell NFTs on the platform. This is huge news! Integration with the ubiquitous app will bring digital collecting to the forefront for many. Maybe I’ll actually get Instagram now..
Art Gobblers free mint runs to 20ETH - Project created by Justin Roiland (creator of Rick and Morty) mints for free and does 10,000 ETH secondary volume ($16,480,000) in a few days. It’s floor price rose to 20 ETH rapidly before crashing down to 8.5E. TL divided between people who really cared that other people made some money vs people who just carried on with their lives.
Blur seizes most marketplace marketshare - With the Art Gobblers drop, Blur did more volume than it has ever done before - mostly as a consequence of the Art Gobblers drop. People want that Blur airdrop!
2. NFT London
I had a blast at NFT London the last couple of days and here are 6 reasons why:
Thoughtleaders dinner
We entered the dinner to an organ playing (!)
3 tables of thoughtleaders in the space, all of whom shared what they were passionate about and which industries they thought NFTs would disrupt.
Caught up with some old friends, and met some very accomplished and interesting people.
Speakers Welcome Party
Got to meet Button with whom I had just been speaking in a Discord a few days prior - turns out he is a legend.
Got to meet an old friend of mine, Endless Traveller - it transpires he also knows Button - but they have never met before - but I have met both of them! This is fun,
Caught up with a friend from the night before.
Saw Spottie Wifi perform for the first time - dope.
3, MCing Legal and Accounting
For the first time I got a chance to MC. It was a lot of fun to introduce all the speakers on the Legal and Accounting track
I got a lot of answers to my legal and accounting questions (questions which have persisted despite the fact I am a lawyer - this stuff is too new to be too certain on stuff!)
I got the names of people who I am going to speak with. Ultimately I still like the law and now it’s great I know which lawyers in the city are interested in the same stuff.
Got to meet 6529Guardian, 6529’s legal counsel - I look up to these guys so that was awesome!
Speaking
Spoke about my journey from teacher to lawyer to trader/collector/investor/writer/founder in the space and how the creator economy can be turbocharged by web3.
Nifty Portal Side Event
Met Pio and the Nifty Portal team. I am simply a huge fan of the show so this was just awesome. Got into some great conversations with Signal and Spencer. Atmosphere was electric - so many people came out to show love.
Breakfast with the squad
Had breakfast with our project’s holders, some of whom we had never met before: priceless.
Conclusion
People, people, people.
So many interesting and accomplished people were brought together to share ideas, collab and connect. For me, this is where I experienced the most value.
I just want to say a special thank you to my good friend Quinn who did so much to make this happen and reached out to me to get involved - looking forward to the next one, Q!
4. Thought of the Week
I enjoyed this thread on how a project can empower the community.
It explains how RTFKT has given holders some commercial rights, 3D files for their clones, and has encouraged the community by holding creator challenges.
In a difficult market period, it seems important to me that projects seek to give their holders the tools to show off their skills - which develops themselves and the brand in turn.
It is becoming increasingly obvious that people want two things on this bird app: to make money and grow their following/reach.
RTFKT are helping their community do both.
5. Meme of the Week
I just laughed a lot at this one. I will laugh at my own memes. That’s fine.
(For the beginners, if you don’t transact enough on particular chains or protocols before their cut off date, you are excluded from an airdrop aka free money. This is bad.)
Have a great day,
B
