This Week In NFT World - MoMa acquires first ever NFT into its permanent collection
The MoMa has acquired Refik Anadol's Machine Hallucinations.
This is the first NFT in the MoMa permanent collection: a truly prodigious moment for NFTs.
The piece was donated to the museum by tech entrepreneur Ryan Zurrer, a prominent collector of digital art.
$115,000 NFT loan against Refik Anadol art
After the celebrations of the MoMa acquisition of Refik Anadol's Machine Hallucinations, the lending market confirmed the strength of Refik's art.
Refik Anadol's ISS Dreams NFT received a 75 ETH loan on Arcade at 22% for 42 days.
Polygon founder proposes ApeChain L2 to ApeCoinDAO for $200k per year
The Polygon founder has proposed to build a bespoke L2 for the ApeCoin DAO - the DAO of the now famous Bored Ape Yacht Club.
It would cost $200k/year for deployment & maintenance, fees would be paid in $APE, and it would take 14-16 weeks to ship.
The benefits: scalability, low fees, ETH security and interoperability.
Though one very prominent holder thinks it is not necessary and would be a waste of money (via a quite abstract analogy!)
In essence, some believe there is no need for the DAO to pay for this service, when they could simply use any other already existing L2.
These DAO votes are exciting with big players and large stakes involved - we will watch how the politics plays out.
Blur Season 2 ends November 20: token down another 10% last 7 days at $0.16
The most prominent NFT marketplace, Blur, finally announced the end to this round of incentivised activity.
Users have been waiting for quite some time to learn when they would receive their airdrop of tokens.
What is telling: it appears that Blur pays out investors, advisors and team members in the first half of each month. So that means a November 20 payout to users means two more payouts to insiders before users can get their tokens.
This means the price goes down more…
Caroline testifies against SBF: reveals he wanted to be POTUS
Finally for the week, some tragicomedy from the trial of disgraced former CEO of FTX, SBF.
It started strange when Caroline, former on-off lover of SBF and CEO of Alamada revealed…
Then it got worse…
Then it got even more ludicrous!
The trial will go on for the rest of the month.
Stay locked in for next week’s update!
Sponsored Post - Will Lil Nouns DAO fork for $900k?
Lil Nouns DAO currently holds 16 Nouns NFTs: these are currently valued at around $900k.
The DAO is currently considering whether or not to fork - which allows Nouns holders to return their Noun and receive back its “book value” (approx. 35 ETH / $55,000).
Should the DAO keep the Nouns - and keep their governance power because they each count for a vote in the bigger Nouns DAO - or should the DAO fork for $900k and plan to build solo for a while by funding projects independently?
This is the key topic of conversation right now in the DAO. Never a boring day in Lil Nouns DAO!
