This Week In NFT/Crypto World - Bitcoin rips 19% as banks line up
Bitcoin rips 19% as banks line up for crypto
Just as it seemed the US regulatory state wanted to go to war with traditional CRYPTO companies like Coinbase and Binance, this week the traditional FINANCE industry confidently entered the crypto fray.
Blackrock filed for a Bitcoin ETF; Deutsche Bank filed for a digital asset license; and a crypto exchange backed by Fidelity, Schwab and Citadel was launched.
Why are the traditional powers moving in?
Well - it seems that the way has been cleared for them.
Prominent investor, Mike Dudas, from 6th Man Ventures had this to say.
I have been saying something along these lines for some time: crypto will happen in the US, so long as the right people are incentivised.
Over 7 days Bitcoin was up almost 20% on the news; Ether was up almost 14%. And what about our favourite frog coin, $PEPE?
Up 83%.
This is crypto!
Nike Air Max NFTs in Fortnite
Nike has being going hard with NFTs - and they are doubling down via their new collab with Fortnite, the gaming titan.
They intend on making these NFTs accessible by participation in the game (more details in the thread above).
This is a clear validation of the thesis that digital assets matter - and they will really matter culturally.
Pimp Capital revealed as $7M+ Bored Ape Buyer
A mysterious wallet bought 96 Bored Ape NFTs in the last week (valued at $7m+).
The identity of the wallet was finally revealed: Pimp Capital.
What will they do with them?
They say “the plan” will be revealed in time.
They are known holders of huge projects, holding colossal numbers of DeGods (each worth around $20,000) for example.
The price of Bored Apes is down 20% since their purchases - not a great start to the investment (!)
$100,000 CryptoPunk burned….twice!
A $100,000 NFT was burned for an allowlist for the Ordinal Maxi Biz mint (a chance to buy a different digital asset on the Bitcoin blockchain.) This happened twice this week!
Why would someone do this?
Well, the project who is encouraging this burn is priced similarly - so it’s not really losing money. And…
It’s good marketing.
People will literally burn 6 figures in this industry to get me to report on it…and I did.
There we go!
Sponsored Post - Lil Nouns DAO Sponsors Me For $10k+
Do you have cool ideas but need funding?
I have received a multi-month sponsorship from Lil Nouns DAO worth 6 ETH ($11,000) to deliver this message to you - so I’m in a position to say Lil Nouns DAO could be able to fund you too.
The Lil Nouns DAO has a significant treasury for funding passionate, thoughtful and committed creators in this space who want to proliferate the Nounish message - this funding could be yours, just like it was mine!
How does funding work?
Lil Nouns DAO releases routine bounties called “props” to which you can submit your ideas to win that funding.
What’s an even bigger deal?
Lil Nouns DAO owns almost 20 Nouns - which means we are in the perfect position to support your biggest ideas by leveraging those Nouns to sponsor your proposal and vote for you in Nouns DAO itself (TLDR: this gets you exposure to the much larger Nouns treasury).
If you are curious about contributing to a cutting-edge DAO and getting paid to bring your ideas to life:
Check out the Lil Nouns DAO website for more details or reply to this email with any questions you’d like me to answer.

Creator Corner - AI Powered Video Repurposing
As creators we know one of the biggest struggles is not the producing of content: the problem is the editing of content.
Most creators either try to edit their work themselves which makes them time poor; or they outsource the work which can add significant cost.
In both of these circumstances the small or medium sized creator is left struggling.
But what about if AI could help you with the process?
Pet, a friend and the brilliant producer of Sporting Crypto - a newsletter which focuses on the intersection of Sports Business & Web3 - today showed me a solution for this problem.
Opus Clip is powered by OpenAI (the company behind ChatGPT) - and their product allows you to convert a YouTube video of ANY size into a series of subtitled clips - in one click!
I will definitely be experimenting with this new tool as I move into video.
Hope that is a helpful strategy for you to leverage AI.
Have a great day,
B
