This Pudgy Penguin just sold for 125 ETH, $488,000.
The floor price of the collection has reached around 35 ETH, $136,000
This is of course, related to the PENGU token - which is highly anticipated to drop very soon (maybe even today).
What do we know?
the token is trading at $0.055 on Whales Pre-Market on $1.6M volume ($4.8B FDV, but pre-markets are historically not super accurate)
the token will drop on Solana, and supply will be 88,888,888,888
the lending market suggests the PENGU token is being valued at around 15 eth, which is currently wrapped into the 35 eth floor price
Abstract (the L2 being built by the Pudgy Penguins team) is coming soon in January with its own token, likely to be used as an additional incentive to hold Penguin NFTs
Thoughts on what happens when the token launches:
I think the token will experience some sell pressure when it comes out (as will the NFTs), but if you believe in the thesis here for crypto + you buy into the positive regulatory environment that Trump has created + you believe that there has been no NFT collection that has executed the way Luca has with Pudgy Penguins, you must believe the PENGU token should be higher than almost every other meme token of this cycle ($1-2B at the very minimum).
Also think liquidity will also get sucked from the market around this event, so if you are holding things you do not like, would be wary because they may not come back after the money flows to PENGU.
That being said, lots of the future value is now baked into the 35 ETH NFT floor price - so if i had to make a play here, it would be on the token itself and not the NFT.
